Welcome to our living room…we love putting our favorite items together! Here are some tips to start you on your way to your perfect room! We hope you enjoy, they always work for us!!!

• First- Show no fear!!!! We can’t stress this enough! Chances are, when you first start plopping items down, you won’t be completely satisfied with the outcome. There are those instances when you know exactly what you need for a certain space and then you find it and WHAMO! Perfection! But, more often that not you will find yourself working a space over. That is good!!! Keep working it! Don’t be afraid to move all of your stuff around~ just make sure that you have a full pot of tasty coffee up or a nice hot cup of tea and time set aside to enjoy the task!

• Next- put pieces together that you love! Don’t worry about matching everything or themes (unless you are really wanting a theme!!!) Ultimately- you need to love the space- If you collect items that speak to you, things will naturally fall into place.

• Don’t be afraid to mix patterns and colors- it adds interest and texture. Decorating is like any art form- it needs to grab your attention, move the eye through the whole area and be appealing to all the senses.

• Scatter heights and types of objects. Add depth through “ layering” or, placing items in front of other items, slightly to the side of each other. Add lower items in front and taller items in back, but not in a military manner. Mix it up so that the eye can pick aprt individual items, but so that it works as a whole.

• Most importantly- HAVE FUN!!! That’s what decorating is all about~ especially country decorating! Country décor is special in a way that no other décor is- so many things can be mixed together and still work; and no other décor makes anyone feel as welcomed, comfortable and at home as Country Décor.
